MUD THERAPY

Mud Theropy

Earth is one of the five remedies in nature care mud therapy has a vital role in Naturopathy. Mud is applied on different parts of the body to cure diseases.

There are two types of application:

•  By applying mud on the affected parts

•  By mud bath

1. Mud Pack

Mud pack is very useful in pimples, boils, spots, patches and constipation. It reduces the temperature, cleans the skin tissue and improves the complexion of the face or body wherever applied.

Benefits:

•  Cooling of the affected part: the cooling effect of a mud pack is much greater than that of a wet water pack, it reduces the body temperature and is useful in high fever.

•  Absorption of toxins: mud has a wonderful and unique property of absorbing the toxins from the body.

•  Reduction of swelling: a clay pack reduces the swelling of any part of the body.

•  Relaxation of tension: A clay pack reduces tension of the muscles and soothes over-stimulated nerves.

2. Mud Bath

Mud bath can be taken by covering the whole body (except head) with clean mud or clay for 20-30 minutes. Clay can produce both cooling and warm effect on the body. If the mud pack or clay is covered well with a thick woolen or cotton cloth it will give warming effect and if it is left uncovered it will have a cooling effect on the applied body part.

Benefits:

Mud therapy is useful in headache, body pains, constipation, gastroenteritis, diarrhea, piles, stomach ache, irregularity in menstruation, leucoderma, burns, wounds, burning soles and palms.

All this exercises take about 45 – 60 minutes to complete. After fortnight one may continue to visit centre regularly or may continue the exercises as taught here, at home perfectly and may visit the centre at least once a week.
